Installation of SQL Server 2012

This article explains the installation of SQL server 2012.

In the previous posts I explained about the software and hardware requirements, Kindly go through those for reference.

Step 1: Click on the setup file in your PC, then below window will prompt.

Step 2: You will get the "SQL server installation center" window.

Click on installation option from the left top corner menu.

Step 3: Click on"New SQL server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation" from the below window.

Step 4: Make sure all rules are passed. if not click on Re-run

if all rules are passed then click on next.

Step 5: In "SQL server 2012 setup" select your edition.

If you have the product key of SQL server 2012 then select Enter the product key option and enter product key
otherwise go for free edition.in that, u will find two options 

1) Evaluation

2) Express

Step 6: In the below window check the"I accept the license terms" option as shown below.

Step 7: If your PC is connected to the internet it will ask you to download the updates, if not it will give an error but don't bother about that error and click on next.

Step 8: Click on next in the below window.

Step 9: Check the "SQL server feature installation" from the below window and click on next.

Step 10: Click on " select all" button from below window and verify whether all the features are checked or not.

Step 11: Verify everything is passed correctly, if not click on "Re-run". if passed correctly click on next.

Step 12: Click on next in the below window.

Step 13: Click on next in the below window.

Step 14: Click on next in the below window.

Step 15: If u want to run your SQL server in windows authentication mode, click on windows authentication mode.

otherwise, if you want to run it under windows authentication mode and SQL server authentication mode, then click on mixed mode.
and finally, click on "add current user" and click next to proceed further

Step 16: Click on "add current user" and then click on next.

Step 17: Click on "add current user" and then click on next.

Step 18: Click on "add current user" and then click on next.

step 19: In controller name give any name you want and click on next.

Step 20: Click on next.

Step 21: Click on install then it will take some time.

after completing the installation process you will get this below window saying your installation completed.
